Gas Monitoring RGMS Technologies

Accuracy – Innovation – Reliability

About RGMS

RGMS Technologies© (Remote Gas Monitoring Systems) is a forward-thinking company dedicated to the advancement of new technology and innovative applications in a cost-conscious consulting industry. Our goal is to provide the most advanced, comprehensive and cost-effective soil -gas monitoring programs available at a highly competitive rate. Landfill sites, petroleum product sites, chemical processing sites, aerospace and Department of Defense contractor sites, new housing development sites, and brown-fields sites can all benefit from comprehensive remote monitoring programs developed by RGMS Technologies.

Data Accuracy

Accurate data is key to every aspect of soil-gas monitoring, reporting, and remediation system controls. RGMS Technologies systems can measure and upload data from soil-gases daily, hourly, or even by the minute. (Many current monitoring protocols require only once-monthly monitoring with hand-held meters.) Real-time data monitoring is also available with RGMS Technologies systems. Hand-held meter monitoring cannot provide real-time data accuracy. Fixed monitoring systems greatly improves data accuracy at less cost. Daily monitoring can detect data that is frequently missed with traditional hand-derived monthly monitoring protocols.

Innovative Technology

RGMS Technologies utilizes new and innovative technology to accurately measure soil gases at various sites impacted by volatile organic compounds, combustible gases, greenhouse gases, and thermal effluents.  Various suppliers provide hardware and software that accurately monitors soil gases 24-hours a day, seven days a week. By utilizing multiple suppliers, RGMS Technologies ensures the client they are getting the latest developments in monitoring equipment and software development that are directly applicable to their specific site.

Reliability

Current Flare systems are run on a timer, with a telephone or fax alert notification system for system shut-down and failures. The current systems notify the client or consultant when a flare system fails, but it doesn’t indicate the actual cause of the failure. RGMS Technologies flare system monitoring capabilities allow the client or consultant to gather more data and know better what may have caused the shut-down and what repairs may be needed. This data greatly reduces the time needed to plan for and execute a system re-boot, saving the client excess time and cost of re-booting the system. RGMS Technologies systems help reduce the down-time of remediation system failures and helps ensure that sites remain in compliance.

Remote Monitoring – The Future is Here

New applications for monitoring impacted sites are advancing all the time. Remote monitoring of groundwater, atmospheric conditions, and soil gases are now achieving great inroads in the monitoring and technology industry. For soil-gas monitoring the time has arrived for using the latest technologies available to be applied where manual soil-gas monitoring is still being practiced. It is now possible to remotely monitor soil-gases daily, hourly, or minute by minute.

Extraction System Breaches and Failures

The current protocol for discovering extraction system piping failures is to walk the extraction pipelines and visually inspect the piping. If a breach occurs, it has to be discovered by visual inspection, or by measuring vacuum within the pipeline system at given intervals. With RGMS Technologies’ monitoring systems, breaches in pipelines can be detected remotely and immediately. Early detection of pipeline breaches helps maintain system integrity while saving the client and landfill owner operational costs.

Flare System Optimization

Landfill flare systems that remediate methane gases typically run on a timer. Flare systems run regardless of methane concentrations extracted from the landfill soils. Utilizing RGMS Technologies’ patented remote monitoring system coupled with RGMS proprietary automated start-stop initiation software, flare systems can be optimized to run only when concentrations reach a critical threshold. Flare systems can now run only when needed. By running flares systems only when needed, reductions in cost, thermal effluent, and carbon discharge can be achieved. Optimized flare systems running RGMS Technology optimized protocols save money and reduce effluents to the atmosphere.

Site-Specific Design and Implementation

No two sites are exactly the same. RGMS Technologies recognizes the need for designing and implementing a system that is right for each individual site. If sites have multiple-use requirements, RGMS Technologies can design monitoring and remediation-control systems that are unobtrusive and inconspicuous.

There is no such thing as a “one-size-fits-all” system that works for every site. RGMS Technologies will evaluate each site independently, develop a monitoring and remediation-control system specific to the site. The client will have the option of utilizing all or only part of the design strategy for the best system at a highly competitive price.

Cost Effectiveness

The greatest asset of RGMS Technologies’ systems is cost savings to the client and property owner. With the reduction or complete elimination of on-site monitoring technicians, RGMS Technologies systems saves the client considerable cost in data collection strategies, and remediation system controls.
